S&K / Air Power Rebuild Policy

All repairs will be rebuilt, not just repaired. Rebuilt means that the tool will be completely disassembled, all parts will be inspected for damage or wear, and the parts will be cleaned. Parts that are damaged or worn will be replaced. As the tool is reassembled, the proper greases and oils will be applied where needed. When the tool is completely assembled, it will be tested to make sure that it meets or exceeds the factory rebuild specifications. By following these guidelines, S&K / Air Power will offer a 30 day warranty on labor and factory warranty against the new parts installed.

Some customers only want their tool repaired, not rebuilt. This should be the exception to the rule, and it should be noted on the Repair Job Form "Repair Only". You should also note what is broken if possible. If we only repair what is broken, we cannot offer any warranty for the repair job, not even on the new parts we used during the repair.

In order to consider the tool "Factory Specification Tested," we will replace any external part that is missing upon receipt of the tool. An example would be a retainer. If we received a chipping hammer minus the retainer, we will replace the retainer and charge the customer. Other examples would be guards, air inlets, lever throttles, and grinder wheel retainers. If the customer doesn't want any of these items replaced, it must be noted as such on the Repair Job Form.

S&K / Air Power would prefer not to receive accessories with tools. Items such as whip hoses, paving breaker steels, drill bits, welding lead, suction or discharge hose, and grinding stones should not be accepted from the customer as part of the job. These items are too easily separated from the tool and inadvertently never returned to the customer.

S&K / Air Power uses genuine parts purchased from the original tool manufacturer. The exception to this would be if a part has been discontinued by the original manufacturer. An approval from the customer would be required before proceeding further.
